Meet Our Team

Below is a brief introduction of our key members of staff:

Christian Bekoe-Tabiri

Christian is the Principal of the firm and a member of the Ghana Bar Association. He practiced in that jurisdiction until 1991. Christian was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1992 and practised at the English Bar until 1999 when he was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales. He founded the firm in 2002.

Christian has a very wide experience in the law having practised in Immigration and Asylum Law both as a barrister and a solicitor. He has rich experience in Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), an area in which in his capacity as a solicitor, he has carried out a lot of work on behalf of FORWARD. Christian's experience in other areas of law include Wills and Probate, Contracts, Landlord and Tenant, Employment Law and Administrative law. Christian holds a post graduate qualification in Maritime Law.

Jagjeet Bhangra

Mrs Jagjeet Bhangra is a qualified solicitor and an accredited Supervisor and senior case worker in Immigration and Asylum Law. She has a very wide experience in this field and notable cases in which she has been involved include;

  • MO (Nigeria) v SSHD [2009] UKHL 25, Kola
  • Kola and another (FC) v SSWP [2007] UKHL 54 on appeal from 2004 EWCA Civ 638 application granted
  • A v SSHD[2007] EWCA Civ 804 application lodged with ECHR
  • AG (Eritrea) v SSHD [2007] EWCA 801 remitted to AIT reconsideration and Leave granted
  • Renita v SSHD (AIT) [2007] reconsideration stage before AIT (high profile media case).

Mrs Bhangra heads the Immigration department.

Abi Oresanya

Abi has always had a passion for people and dealing with their problems, therefore Family Law became an area of law that Abi became automatically attracted to. Abi qualified as a solicitor in 2001. Prior to qualifying she worked in the criminal justice unit of the metropolitan police. This experience afforded Abi the ability to deal with the public in a compassionate and professional capacity. This also enabled her to correspond with different authorities in an advisory capacity.

Abi became a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel in 2005 and an advance member in 2011. She is currently applying to become a member of the Law Society Children Panel.

Abi has been a part time lecturer in Family Law at the University of London since 2005.

Catherine Bekoe-Tabiri

Catherine holds a first degree in Music and an LRSM (Piano). She qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1992 and worked in Management and Financial Accountant roles for 17 years in London in various limited companies such as St Ives Plc, IT Matters, Park Communications and Barratt Homes before taking up the position of Accountant with Christian Gottfried & Co ten years ago.

Her position here is varied – she is responsible for Bookkeeping and Management and Financial accounting, as well as Personnel and salaries, and heads up the Accounts and Administration departments.

Catherine is also a member of the Institute of Legal Finance and Management.

Ellen Saeed

Ellen is our secretary/receptionist and as such is the first point of contact with the firm in most cases. Ellen has a pleasant telephone manner and is very competent at her job having worked previously as a legal secretary with Baker & McKenzie, Amsterdam for six years and then for another four years in the same capacity with Allen & Overy, Amsterdam. Ellen is fluent in Dutch.
